Greater Long Branch NAACP meeting
The meeting served as a data gathering section to produce the necessary information that showed how citizens are genuinely fed up with what is going on in their community.
Mr. Reeves, a long time resident of Long Branch reminded the people at the meeting that change can only be made if the people are willing to rally and demand change from their elected officials.
He also talked about in 1971 the concerned citizens of Long Branch rallied together to save a Black detective’s position so that he would not be demoted in order to bring in somebody white to do the job.
You could feel in the meeting how people are willing and ready to fight for change.
