The Rev. Al Sharpton will announce the opening of the new chapter of The National Action Network at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, NJ tonight.

The Rev. Al Sharpton will announce the opening of the new chapter of The National Action Network at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark tonight.

The church’s pastor, Rev. David Jefferson Sr., will be named the chairman of the chapter.

National Action Network

New Jersey now has three chapters including Atlantic City, Jersey City, and now in Newark. The National Action Network, with the help of attorneys and investigators, deal with cases of police brutality, discrimination, and help refer people to other agencies.

The National Action Network was founded by Sharpton in 1991.
