Operation BLOODLiine, targeting subsets of the Blood gangs, has made 60 arrests cracking down and curbing drug activity in East Orange ward that borders Newark.

Operation BLOODLiiNE

Most of the suspects are from East Orange and all except one from Essex County, ranged in the ages between 16 – 61. All arrests were made in a two-week span, authorities said.

Operation BLOODLiiNE, concentrated in the city’s fourth and fifth wards bordering Newark, targeted members of the “Double ii” posse, authorities said.

Investigation

Lt. Thomas Koundry, who heads the violent crimes task force, said he noticed a drop in crime activity since the arrests.

“That area is like a completely different neighborhood,” Koundry said.

The crackdown netted heroin, crack and powder cocaine and marijuana with a street value of about $7,000, Robinson said. Police also seized several weapons.
