Under a new anti-truancy program, Camden school district will pay students $100 each to attend school through September 30th.

Camden will pay students to end truancy

The city’s newest attempt at curbing truancy – I Can End Truancy will focus on conflict-resolution and anger-management workshops and educational reinforcement during the next five weeks, ending Sept. 30.

Funding

The program is being funded through a $63,000 Community Justice Grant from the state Department of Criminal Justice. Sixty-six youths will attend anti-truancy sessions three times a week.
