2. Did you know that Adam Mieloch, Tyler Mechura, and Travis Schrembri are participating in the Panasonic Creative Design robotics competition?
3. Did you know that Kristin Cox received the NJSIAA Women in Sports Award at a luncheon at Seton Hall University?
4. Did you know that Yazmin Hall was accepted to Delaware State University and received a $22,000 DSU Advantage grant?
5. Did you know that Kristal Cortes was accepted to Cabrini College and received a Deans Scholarship & Grant for $56,000?
6. Did you know that the 2012 Varsity Wrestling Team defeated Pinelands HS in the Shore Conference Tournament? This is the first time in over 23 years that a Neptune High School wrestling team has won a shore conference tournament.
7. Did you know that Zach Orsino was accepted to Penn State University?
8. Did you know that Nelcy Santiago took a 2nd place at the NJ Wrestling Federation All-Girls Wrestling Tournament? This is the 3rd year she’s wrestled and the 3rd year she has placed in the top three in her weight category.
9. Did you know that Ayeshia Morris was accepted to New England College? Ayeshia was awarded the Presidential Scholarship in the amount of $56,000.
10. Did you know that Emily Toohey was accepted to Salisbury University? Emily was also accepted to Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania and was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $60,000?
11. Did you know that Alex Melendez performed at the D.A.R.E. Conference; project P.A.C.K.M.A.N. the Conference was held February 29, 2012? P.A.C.K.M.A.N. stands is the acronym for Police And Community Kids Against Narcotics.
12. Did you know that The Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards committee announced that Andy Bauer was a 2012 Honorable Mention for his submitted writing portfolio, an Honorable Mention for a personal essay he submitted, and a Silver Key for a final personal essay he wrote entitled “The Celebration of Paul Guest: A Distinguished Author.” Andy was also awarded a certificate of achievement by Cablevision’s Power to Learn for his essay on Hispanic Heritage Month?

14. Did you know that Scott (Vincent) Stewart was accepted to the University of Maryland, Howard University, Norfolk State University, Grambling State University ($24,000 Academic Scholarship),and to the Brookdale CC NJ Stars Program?
15. Prudential Financial recognized the top 234 students in the nation for volunteerism projects with their communities. Andy Bauer was selected as one of the six distinguished finalists from New Jersey.
16. Did you know that Bridget Lysaght, Michael Steward, Teresa Shafto and Sean Ferguson are auditioning for the All-Shore Symphonic Band?

Did you know that Jessica Robertson was accepted to Rutgers, The State University of NJ; the University of Vermont with a scholarship of $40,000; Quinnipiac University with a $64,000 scholarship; Temple University $30,000; and St. John’s University in the amount of $76,000? Her total scholarships amount to $210,000.
18. Did you know that Kyla Hughley, Aderike Adesanya, Ayeshia Morris, Ann-Marie Buckley, Atonne Watson, and Itohan Obyawanna attend the P.A.C.E. Monmouth Engineering Academy at Brookdale Community College every Saturday morning?
19. Did you know that Therran Thompson was recognized by the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for his volunteerism?
20. Did you know that Damiera Wilson was accepted to Rider University? Damiera was also awarded the Provost Scholarship in the amount of $16,000 per year.
21. Did you know that Emily Millaway will be studying in Washington, D.C. this summer with the National Young Leaders State Council?

23. Did you know that Matt Edwards and Christina Nesheiwat were selected by the VFW as winners in the “Voice of Democracy” speech they taped earlier in the year?
24. Did you know that Jermaine Budd was accepted to Seton Hall University?
25. Did you know that Neptune High School collected $315 for the Go Red for Women campaign of the American Heart Association this February? Thanks to the generosity of NHS, twice as much was collected this year.
26. Did you know that Jordan Blanda was accepted to Kean University and will be a member of their varsity lacrosse team?
27. Did you know that Jai-Leen James was accepted to Montclair University? Jail-Leen was accepted into the Broadcasting program after her successful audition.
28. Jordan Hayes, on her acceptance to The University of the Arts, was accepted into the University’s School of Dance and was awarded the Promising Artist Scholarship in the amount of $52,000.
29. Did you know that Andy Bauer is a semi-finalist for the prestigious Robertson Scholarship program which selects 36 students across the country to receive full tuition scholarships for Duke and UNC Chapel Hill?
Andy was also recognized for excellence in writing by the New Voices Young Writers Competition.
30. Did you know that Dorothy Fortune attended the Black History Celebration sponsored by the Monmouth County Vicinage where she was selected to read her award winning essay?
31. Did you know that Dae’ Sean Brown placed 2nd in the Region Wrestling tournament?
This victory qualifies him for the individual State Championships in historic Atlantic City. Dae’ Sean is now ranked in the top 24 Wrestlers in the State at 170 pounds.
32. Did you know that the Boys basketball team was crowned the Shore Conference Champions by defeating Colts Neck HS at Monmouth University?
33. Did you know that John Seidle, Karl Waldron, and Dae’Sean Brown won the District 23 Wrestling tournament at their respective weight classes?
This was the first time since 1989 that Neptune High School has 3 champions. It also makes Karl Waldron the 1st 2-time District Champ from Neptune since 1992.
