Asbury-Neptune NAACP branch celebrated its annual freedom fund dinner at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tinton Falls, NJ.

The freedom fund dinner is held annually by all NAACP branches to celebrate the achievements of those who have made an impact in their community. These individuals or organizations are known as unsung heroes because of their unselfish acts that may go unnoticed. The NAACP takes the time to acknowledge these people, letting them know their contributions have made a difference.

This year, the Asbury-Neptune NAACP branch celebrated its annual freedom fund dinner at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tinton Falls, NJ. “Standing for Freedom, Fighting for the Future”, brought many community leaders out to celebrate the legacy of the NAACP and the continued fight for freedom.

Past and present community leaders were honored for the their hard work in the community. The honorees were Dr. Denise Lowe the superintendent of Asbury Park School District, June West an NJ orator, Michelle R. Burrell the owner/director/choreographer of Asbury Park Academy of Dance, David A. Moij, Neptune Superintendent of Schools, and Pastor Tony D. Miles of Macedonia Baptist Church in Neptune.
