Neptune native Vinny Curry drafted by The Philadelphia Eagles as the overall 59th draft pick.

Vinny Curry drafted by the NFL

Curry, 6-foot-3, 266-pound defensive end for Marshall University, had 26.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles in his career. He gives the Eagles another pass rusher to go with Jason Babin and Trent Cole.

As reported by The Washington Post:

The Eagles traded down from No. 51 to get this pick along with a fourth-round pick from Green Bay. They had acquired the 51st pick in the trade that sent quarterback Kevin Kolb to Arizona last year.

Curry was considered a potential first-round pick by some draft analysts.

The Eagles previously took California linebacker Mychal Kendricks in the second round. They traded up to take Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox at No. 12 overall on Thursday night.

Congratulations Vinny Curry!
