Newark, NJ – Investigators are in the hunt for the suspects involved in a viral video of a young man being stripped naked and whipped.

The disturbing almost 2-and-a-half minute video went viral within minutes after being posted on Worldstarhiphop.com .

The video begins where the man is asked by another man in a black t-shirt about a debt his father owes. Yelling and screaming at the teen, the man then tells the teen to strip completely naked.

“take them drawers off too”, he said

As the man stands there slumped and visibly terrified, the man in the black shirt proceeds to taunt him and gets a belt from a by stander while the cameraman laughs throwing water on the teen.

“Where my money at?” he yells.

“I don’t know,” the victim responds.

The next turn of events in the video has the Newark Police Department searching for the suspects in the video. The man in the black t-shirt begins to whip the young man profusely, while the crowd laughs at him, demanding the teen to yell “it’s a doggy dog world”.

Toward the end of the video, someone announces the debt, a mere $20.00. Yes, $20.00.

The video has already received massive attention. Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio said he was infuriated by the video and dispatched three separate detective squads to find the man holding the belt in the clip, which he called “sickening.” –

“You don’t know how bad I want to see the kid who did that taken into custody,” he said.

Police have an idea where the attack took place and are closing in on the suspects.

It is unclear who the victim is in the video, but social media has provided some insight as two twitter accounts started to promote the video. The twitter accounts have since been taken down, but the hackers Anonymous, an international pro free-speech collective, helped identify the accounts.

Police say the attackers will likely face aggravated assault and weapons charges.  DeMaio says the victim of the attack appeared to be a teenager, but would not say if police contacted anyone seen in the video.

The video was originally on Worldstarhiphop.com, but has since been taken down.

Due to graphic nature, we’ve decided not the post the video.

Update: Three men have been arrested in connection with the horrific video. The victim has been identified as a 21-year-old man.

Ahmad Holt, 22, Raheem Clark, 31, and 23-year-old Jamaar Gray have been charged with robbery and aggravated assault after the August 2012 attack, which Mayor Cory Booker declared a ‘human tragedy’.
