Teen hospitalized after Long Branch hit-and-run

A teen girl has been hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Long Branch on Sunday night.

A teen girl has been hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Long Branch on Sunday night. The 15-year-old was struck on Joline Avenue between Washington and Branchport Avenue.

Long Branch hit-and-run

Long Branch Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck said the girl, whose name was not released, suffered “serious injuries” and is in a medically induced coma at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Roebuck said the incident occurred around 10 p.m. near the Lukoil gas station on Joline Avenue in Long Branch.

Investigation

Roebuck said police are still unsure of where the girl was when she was hit. He said nobody has been charged with any crime as of noon on Monday, and that police are still investigating.
