Lamont Williams and Joshshon Bland, who were charged with murder of SharRon Jackson, walked away as free men.
After slightly more than three years of being incarcerated, a jury found both not guilty of murder and weapons charges in the June 24, 2010 death of Jackson.
Men acquitted in SharRon Jackson’s murder
Williams had been incarcerated since June 30, 2010, and Bland had been in jail since late January of 2011 in a case that lawyers say was based on liars and nothing else.
Jackson was shot multiple times while riding a bicycle on Ellis Avenue near the Seaview Manor apartments in Long Branch about 11 p.m. on June 24, 2010. He was pronounced dead at 12:34 a.m. June 25 at Monmouth Medical Center.
Several witnesses changed their story on what happened on the night in question.
