Paterson, NJ – Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old in the deadly shooting of a 12-year-old girl who was shot while riding a scooter in a Paterson neighborhood.
Authorities says Jhymiere Moore is charged with murder and weapons charges in the death of Genesis Rincon.

Passaic County prosecutor Valdes says Moore shot a handgun from a moving car, striking Genesis Rincon in the head as she rode a scooter with two friends Saturday night on Rosa Parks Boulevard near Warren Street. Two other children who were with her were not injured. They were not the intended target.
Genesis Rincon’s death is the latest in a spike in Paterson gun violence.
Moore is charged with first-degree murder and two second-degree weapons offenses. He’s being held on a $2 million bond. His first court appearance is Friday.
