Man killed in Eatontown shooting

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday at Country Club Apartments, authorities say.

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday at Country Club Apartments, authorities say.

Eatontown shooting

Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Charles Webster told APP.com that police responded to a report of shots fired at the complex shortly after midnight and discovered the victim lying in the roadway on Country Club Road.

The man was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was pronounced deceased at 2:47 a.m., Webster said in statement.

It was reported that the victim, who has not been identified, was visiting relatives at the time of the shooting.

The complex, located at 2 Country Club Road, is described as mostly quiet and includes clusters of multifamily apartment buildings.

Investigation

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Eatontown Police Department are investigating the shooting.
