Ghana Project Session 8 at Asbury Park Middle School :

On December 7, 2015 Oiada Int. gave the students of Asbury Park Middle
School a live tour of one of the landmarks in Ghana, Cape Coast Slave
Dungeon.

Ghana Project Session 8

The tour guide brought the APMS students visually inside the
dungeons in which slaves were held, abused, and dehumanized.

In addition, the tour guide showed how slaves were separated from their
families as well as separated by sex. There was a dungeon for the men
and a dungeon for the women.

According to the tour guide, the men and
women were crammed together and had to endure the darkness, disease
from insects, and limited food and water.

From there the tour guide
explained how the slaves were a part of the Transatlantic Slave Trade
in which slaves were kidnapped from their homes, placed in dungeons,
and then sold in America.

The APMS students appreciated the tour and now what to conduct a further investigation about the institution of slavery.
