The Long Branch NAACP registration and education committee met to discuss the necessity of educating and increasing voter registration turn out at the polls.
The Long Branch NAACP registration and education committee met to discuss the necessity of educating and increasing voter registration turn out at the polls. The goal of the meeting was to get an early start on reaching out to citizens of the Long Branch community and to prepare first time voters on the electoral process.
NAACP president Bill Dangler feels that it is important to reach out to the people of the community who may not know that they can vote. All too many people feel that they have been eliminated from the voting process because of their criminal past.
The voter registration training is planned to take place at the Adam Bucky James Community Center at 231 Wilbur Ray Avenue in Long Branch on May 23rd, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm. The training will provide 6 to 8 ballot machines that will be used to educate the community. Also an expungement expert will be on hand to answer any questions for those that believe they can not vote. Additionally, input from the county office officials will also be available.
Remember Long Branch citizens, the change begins with you. The training event will be open to the public.
