The Boyd Journalism Workshop is accepting applications for New Jersey high school students interested in careers in media. Last year Unheard Voices had the opportunity to speak with the aspiring journalists about using media to cultivate stories on your community.

The workshop, a boot camp for high school journalists, is designed to inspire a diverse group of high school students to pursue careers in the media. Students work with a team of professional journalists in activities designed to improve skills in writing and editing as well as digital journalism skills.

The workshop, open to 10 students, will be held at Rutgers University (New Brunswick campus) from July 22nd – July 30th. Students will live and work on campus and attend the program for free. All expenses, including room and board, are covered by the
workshop.

The application deadline has been extended to May 19th. For more information please visit their official website. To apply, click here for the application.
