The battle continues to get Assata Shakur to return to the United States with this time an attempt by President Donald Trump.

On Friday, Trump delivered his Cuba policy address in Miami and demanded that the Castro regime return Shakur.

Assata is a hero to many and a villain to some. Assata Shakur was convicted of killing a New Jersey state trooper before escaping from a United States prison in the 1970s.

She fled to Cuba were they granted her political asylum. Cuba says despite many requests to return her, they do not plan to relinquish her to the United States.

Deputy director of American Affairs at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gustavo Machin, told Yahoo! News that he has no intention of returning the woman born Joanne Chesimard to the United States. “I can say it is off the table.”
