Toms River, N.J. – Javon Cutler, a young man who was shot in the head near an apartment building on Sunday night, has died on Wednesday, announced the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Cutler, 19, of the Bayville section of Berkeley, was in the rear seat of a car with two friends leaving the Toms River Apartments on Main Street when gunfire erupted about 8:15 p.m, according to OCPO.
He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and was in critical condition until his death Wednesday night, said Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer. The Ocean County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
Arrests and information
Authorities have not announced an arrest and state the investigation is ongoing.
“We are allocating all of our resources to root out the individuals responsible for this brazen lawlessness. This behavior will not be tolerated. I can’t comment on the specifics of this investigation; I can tell you the detectives are working around the clock to bring the individuals responsible to justice,” Billhimer said.
