Authorities are searching for the person(s) responsible for firing two shots outside of a restaurant at Monmouth Mall Saturday (Jan. 9) night.

Police responded to a report of shots fired outside the TGI Fridays at the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown at 9:12 p.m., according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Someone fired two shots after two groups of people left the restaurant, authorities said. Two cars then fled the parking lot.

When police arrived at the scene, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after they searched a large perimeter around the mall, no victims were found.

Police say multiple shell casings were found and a white vehicle-possibly a Ford Focus- was observed speeding away from the mall immediately after the shooting.

No injuries or motive behind the shooting have been reported, authorities said.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the incident contact the prosecutor’s office at (800) 533-7443 or police at (732) 542-0100.
