Veteran Veronica Miller speaks to students

Once he was finished, Veronica Miller spoke to all students about her military service. Veronica served in Desert Storm or Desert Shield and the War in Iraq. She informed the students how she was a truck driver, who was responsible for transferring food, supplies, and soldiers to their destinations.

She also shared how she had flown in helicopters and planes going to Saudi Arabi and Iraq. After her service in the military, Veronica explained how she was involved in helping out other veterans as well as being an active participant in her church.

The students on both ends asked her numerous questions in regard to her training, uniform, and strong commitment to fulfill all her duties while serving.

Veronica also shared a very fascinating fact which was that she served under the first black chief of the Army Corps and first black female brigadier general, Brig. Gen. Hazel Johnson-Brown.

Women’s history month

This session was very important because Veronica Miller showed the importance and roles women had taken to protect our democracy and freedom.

Women throughout history stepped up especially during the toughest times of war. Veronica Miller service demonstrated strength and ongoing commitment that made our country stronger. That was why it was a great honor of having her for Women’s history month. Thank you for your service, Veronica Miller.

Veronica Miller and the Tuskegee Airmen Project: The Third Veteran to Visit Mr. Gould’s Engineering Class!

Veronica Miller

After her Ghana session, Mr. Wronko brought Veronica Miller to Mr. Gould’s engineering class to see the progress on the Tuskegee Airmen project. Veronica Miller would be the third VFW veteran to visit with Wilbur V. Martin being the first, and Keith Roberson being the second.

Mr. Gould shared with Veronica all the equipment that was being used to help students design their project. Also, he explained how he incorporated art, math, science, and history into all of his engineering projects, so students get a well-rounded education.

He then showed how students were wiring their planes they were working on to make the engines and lights come to life.

Veronica Miller was very impressed with the project they were working on and would like to visit Mr. Gould’s engineering class again.
