Neptune Announces 2022 Juneteenth Celebration Details

Neptune Township has announced its 2022 Juneteenth events in celebration of Freedom Day.

The township will host several events on June 18th, starting with a flag raising ceremony, followed by a block party & wellness fair and ending with a parade.

The event is free and family fun for everyone.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, recognizes and marks the emancipation of formerly enslaved African Americans, commemorating the date in 1865 when slaves in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom.

In 2021, Juneteenth was officially confirmed a federal holiday.
