Authorities seek help in solving Kyshon Washington-Walker’s murder

Kyshon Washington Walker was fatally shot on the 1600 block of Sewall Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ on July 28, 2022.

Walker was killed four days before his birthday.

Affectionately known as “Butey”, Kyshon was born in Long Branch but raised in Asbury Park.

“Butey was educated in the Asbury Park School District. Butey was a proud Asbury Park Blue Bishop and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to attend football games, encourage the youth, and talk trash about his teams. As his mother’s only son, Butey absolutely loved his family”

Authorities and family are seeking the public’s help in bringing Kyshon Washington Walker’s killer to justice.

According to Walker’s family, he was an innocent bystander and they won’t stop seeking justice until it is served.

“He was an innocent bystander, which means it could’ve been anyone of us, and it could’ve been another family here mourning,” his sister, Lakisha Johnson, told the Asbury Park Press. “The wrong place, at the wrong time.

“He was not a gangbanger, he was not in the streets. He was not a drug dealer. My brother lived with his girlfriend. They were in love, planning a future, very family oriented,” Johnson said.
