Princeton men’s basketball has something to prove and seemingly broke brackets in the NCAA tournament.
Princeton basketball stuns
The No. 15 Princeton University Tigers stunningly defeated the No. 2 Arizona 59-55 in California Friday.
Princeton’s classic style of play gave them a slight egde, shooting above average percentages on the court. On defense, Princeton outrebounded Arizona 38-37, had six blocks to Arizona’s one and was way more energetic than the Tigers, especially in the second half.
The Tigers upset marked the third straight year and 11th time overall that a No. 15 seed won a first-round game.
Next game
Princeton will take on No. 7 Missouri in the second round of the South Region on Saturday, March 18.
