Singer Kelly Clarkson surprised the students on her show NBC’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, telling them they’ve been picked to join her for the upcoming Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The Scarlet Sound knew they were finalist in the competition but was pleasantly surprised to find out they won and will be joining one of the biggest singers in the world at classic tree lighting ceremony.

The TV host and pop star is both singing and hosting at NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” which airs Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. E.T. in the New Jersey-New York area and 8 p.m. across the country.

“And that’s not all,” Clarkson told the choir.

NBC 4 and Telemundo 47 are donating $5,000 to the choir, an extracurricular program that relies on fundraising. Clarkson also said Balsam Hill, the company that decorates Rockefeller Center for the tree lighting, is donating another $5,000.

The Jersey students will sing “Deck the Halls,” the song from their audition.
