Awesome events at Asbury Park High School

M&T Bank

To begin with, just recently, M&T Bank representatives, Robert DePalo and Ashley Casale visited Mr. David Wronko’s Honor’s World History class to conduct a lesson on finance and money management.

Both representatives explained to the students how to save money so it could last for many years, write a check, and invest.

The students asked numerous questions in regards to setting up an account, security, and managing financial information.

This lesson was well received and both Robert DePalo and Ashley Casale plan on returning with a new lesson.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Another awesome event at Asbury Park High School was presentations for Hispanic Heritage Month.

For Hispanic Heritage Month, many classes competed in a door decorating contest.

The contest was very competitive. Above image was from Mr. Wronko’s U.S. History II class.

The door represented all Hispanic countries with their flags creating the woman’s skirt. Other doors involved Hispanic teachers and “Day of the Dead.”

Prehistoric Times Publication and Future Publication

Asbury Park High School student Katherine Avila Roman once again got her artwork published in Prehistoric Times Magazine. Her artwork that was published was based on the Godzilla Minus One Movie, which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Her artwork of Godzilla was also published in G-fan magazine. In closing, Katherine just recently created another great work of art that would most likely be published in another issue of Prehistoric Times Magazine.

E-Sports

Asbury Park High School just recently got the go ahead to start an E-Sports program. What was included in the go ahead was:

Mr. Gould, Engineering Teacher, given the Citizenship Education Teacher Award

Finally, Mr. Gould, Engineering Teacher at Asbury Park High School, was awarded the Citizenship Education Teacher Award from the Harold Daley VFW Post 1333. Because of his hard work with getting the students involved with countless projects in engineering and having many patents on multiple creations, Mr. Gould truly earned this award.
