Update: 11-year-old missing Newark boy found safe

Police said on October 6, 2021, Jahzir Whitmire, 11, was reported missing by his mother.

Update: Jahzir Whitmire has been found and is safe. 

Police said on October 6, 2021, Jahzir Whitmire, 11, was reported missing by his mother.

Jahzir Whitmire was last seen on Mercer Street

According to police, Jahzir was last seen at the location of 73 Mercer Street at approximately 1 p.m. wearing a blue shirt, tan pants and black shoes, and face mask.

Jahzir is known to frequent possible Best in South Cedar Lane, Seymour Avenue and Avon Avenue, according to police.

He is 5’ tall as weighs about 95 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
