Long Branch, NJ – Long Branch Police and Fire Department responded to sparks believed to be caused by a blown transformer on the intersection on Third Avenue and North Bath Avenue.

Long Branch residents see light in sky

Nearby residents seen the spark in the sky, dimming the electric in some homes and even in some areas complete power was lost for several minutes.

A near by resident described the light as a “ball of fire” as he looked toward his window, because the light was so bright.
